FILMMAKER

Luis Petzhold graduated in Film at The Federal Fluminense University (UFF). His written thesis was called "Digital Production - A way to convergence" which received an honor degree from the judgment committee, formed by Mr. Nelson Pereira dos Santos, Mr. João Luiz Leocádio and Mr. Antônio Serra.

Having worked in more than twenty films and videos, he had his opening as a film director with the short film "O Maior"(The Biggest), being one of the award winners of the "11th International Short Film Festival of São Paulo". He was also one of the director of the award winner short film "Loop", TV commercials and music videos. He is finishing the short film "SINAIS, s. m. pl." (Signs).

He is a former-coordinator of Audiovisual Projects of Casa da Ciência, a science institution from The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and has received from "FAPERJ" (Carlos Chagas Foundation for the Development of Research in the State of Rio de Janeiro), a screenwriting award.

He produced a theater play in São Paulo, which was nominated in two categories for the APETESP Award.

He worked as a producer for TV Bandeirantes and has been participating in several festivals, meetings, seminars and workshops, and has also been a member of the Jury in the following events:

He is a Member of The Brazilian Academy of Motion Pictures.
